
My story (so far).....
I am an education leader with over three decades of experience in pioneering and transforming the learning landscape. My journey began as a university lecturer in 1987, teaching Economics, and has since evolved into founding and leading a number of innovative education and EdTech companies across 3 continents. I have served as a board member for more than 30 organisations across the K–12, vocational, and higher education sectors, driving strategic initiatives that reshape how students learn and succeed.
How I got here ......

My career has focussed on pioneering education solutions, investing in transformative education businesses, and understanding and shaping education policies.
1989-1996: Co-Founder and Chief Executive, Midrand Campus (South Africa)
Midrand Campus was an innovative degree-providing institution that offered students a high-quality alternative to traditional university education. Midrand Campus went on to gain full degree conferring status. The organisation also expanded into the provision of vocational and distance education. In 1996, Midrand Campus became part of Educor.

1996–1999: Co-Founder, Head of Education, Educor Ltd (South Africa and Canada)
Educor listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in June 1996. Educor became one of the largest private education providers in the world, with campuses across Southern Africa and Canada. Educor was responsible for the delivery of higher, vocational and K-12 education. Educor was also the largest provider of staffing/recruitment services in South Africa. In 2000, Educor sold its education interests to Naspers, one of South Africa's largest media companies, and the recruitment interests were listed separately as Logical Options Ltd.

2000-2001: Co Founder, StudyChoice Ltd (UK)
Study Choice was the first online platform for UK colleges and universities to recruit international students online.
2002-2006: Director, McKenzie Consulting (Australia)
McKenzie Consulting was a talent management and recruitment company, specialising in the retail sector.

2003-2008: Director and Honorary Secretary, Moriah College (Australia)
Moriah College is one of the largest private schools in Sydney.

2006-2010: Co-Founder and Group CEO, Think: Education Group (Australia)
Think: Education Group became one of the largest private education groups in Australia. Think provided vocational and higher education to students across a network of campuses and online. Exited to Seek Ltd.
2010-2015: Director, Open Colleges (Australia)
Acquired Cengage Education from Apax Partners (USA). Cengage re-branded as Open Colleges. Open Colleges became the largest private provider of online vocational education in Australia. Exited to Apollo Education Group (USA).

2014-2015: Member, GAP Taskforce on Leadership in Education (Australia)
The Taskforce was established to consider the state of the Australian education system across various sectors, the Government’s priorities in each sector and issues of particular significance, including regulatory, structural and funding challenges and the transformational role of technology.

2015-Present: Co-Founder and Director, Quartet Ventures Pty Ltd (Australia)
Quartet Ventures is a venture capital and private equity company that invests in high growth industry segments, with a focus on education.

2017-2022: Co-Founder & Executive Deputy Chairman, Cluey Ltd (Australia)
Cluey Ltd is an ASX listed Edtech company that provides K-12 tutoring and test-prep, and co/extracurricular learning.
